You can connect your RATIONAL cooking system to the Internet via LAN (wired) or WLAN (wireless).
iCombi Pro: LAN and WLAN capabilities equipped as standard.
iCombi Classic: LAN and WLAN capabilities are optionally available.
iVario: Equipped with WLAN as standard (optional for iVario 2-XS); LAN available as an option.
SelfCookingCenter (Production date 03/2017 or later): Equipped with LAN as standard; The WiFi adapter is available for purchase as an accessory. Please contact your service partner for pricing and installation information.

You can download the software onto an original RATIONAL USB stick and then manually update the cooking system.
iCombi/iVario: Click Settings/Service/Installed software version on the cooking system display.
SelfCookingCenter/VarioCookingCenter: Click Cooking system/Settings/Information/Installed software version on the cooking system display.
All you need to use ConnectedCooking are an Internet browser (Chrome, Firefox, MS Edge) and access to *.connectedcooking.com via port 443. ConnectedCooking does not install any programs on your computer.
DHCP (=Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) is a communication protocol for computer network devices. It ensures that the cooking system searching for a connection can automatically obtain a reusable network address and all relevant parameters from the network.
The recommended data volume is 2GB/month on average due to firmware updates. When using a mobile network, we recommend data pooling. Please note that your data volume always depends on the transfer volume.
There are no restrictions on the number of cooking systems.
Please check your firewall to verify that port 443 and TCP/UDP 8883 are open.

You can view energy data on ConnectedCooking for connected iCombi Pro and SelfCookingCenter cooking systems with a production date of May 2017 or later.

Make sure that HACCP data is being transferred. You can activate this setting directly on the device display or remotely through ConnectedCooking by selecting ConnectedCooking on the main cooking system display menu Once there, set “Automatically transfer HACCP data” to ON.
The energy consumption data shows the energy that the iCombi Pro or SelfCookingCenter uses per hour [kWh], at a time delay of up to 60 hours. These are calculated values, not measured.
Idle time refers to the time between the end of preheating and loading (door opening).
In other words, the cooking system is preheated but not yet being used for cooking, which consumes energy unnecessarily. Shorter idle times have a positive effect on energy consumption and lead to optimum utilization of the cooking system.
When the door is open, the cooking cabinet loses heat, which must be compensated through reheating; this results in increased energy consumption. ConnectedCooking displays the number of long (> 60 seconds) door openings after preheating to indicate potential energy savings. Minimizing the duration and number of door openings is beneficial to energy consumption.
Peak loads represent the total of all peak consumption periods for the connected cooking systems, e.g., preheating phases for multiple cooking systems at once. The group consumption is displayed. For this feature to work, the cooking systems must be assigned to the Branch category in ConnectedCooking.
The dashboards are only visible at user level, i.e., each user creates their own dashboards.
